Our Small Group Ministry

Living Hope Christian Fellowship is a multi-cultural church affiliated with Mennonite Church of BC (MCBC) and is made up of people from all walks of life. As our motto reflects, we are passionate about helping people pursue vibrant and meaningful relationships with God—loving and enjoying His presence and sharing Him with others.

We gather weekly for worship celebrations every Sunday at 10 AM, and throughout the week in Small Groups. These smaller gatherings are an essential part of who we are. They offer a space for deeper connection, spiritual growth, and real-life support.

Seasonally, we also host leadership training and other events designed to cultivate both spiritual and personal maturity.

What Are Small Groups?

Small Groups are weekly gatherings of 5–16 people, typically meeting in homes. Each group is led by a Small Group Leader—an active Living Hope member equipped through our Small Group Leadership Training program.

A typical meeting includes:

  • Welcome – Icebreakers or casual conversation to build connection.
  • Worship – Scripture reading, songs, prayer, and testimonies.
  • Word – A Bible-based study and group discussion, centered on applying God's truth to everyday life.
  • Works – A time of prayer or serving (on a service project or mission) together.

Small Groups are about more than just study—they’re about living life together, encouraging one another in our Christian faith, and helping one another navigate real-world challenges with biblical wisdom.

Why Join a Small Group?

We believe faith in Christ is not meant to be overly complicated—rather deep, rich and life-giving. Our Small Groups provide a space to cultivate this kind of faith—where people can grow spiritually while being surrounded by love, accountability, and encouragement.

In our Small Groups, we intentionally live out two key biblical commands:

  • The Great Commandment: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength... and love your neighbor as yourself.”
  • The Great Commission: “Go and make disciples of all nations...”

Our Core Values

1. Loving God

We are called to love God with everything we are—our heart, soul, mind, and strength. This value is nurtured through passionate spirituality, where Christ is formed in us and His Lordship shapes every part of our lives—our time, gifts, relationships, and resources.

2. Loving Others

We believe that faith is best lived out in community. God never intended for us to walk alone. In Small Groups, we worship, study, serve, and grow together. We share everyday life, build deep relationships, and offer one another support, grace, and accountability.

3. Serving Others

Jesus calls us to be His hands and feet—to love and serve those around us in real and practical ways. When we serve our neighbours, we open the door for transformation in our homes, workplaces, communities, and church. This value reminds us to live missionally, with hearts open to the work of the Holy Spirit in and through us.
